Don’t Vote for this Show (Channel 101 Pilot)
Thank you to those who took the title far too literally and didn’t vote for the show. This was not a narrative show, so had this made prime time, that would have been indicative of the very problems it was addressing. I didn’t want to see more shows like this in prime time than we already had.
Also, thank you to those who came up and told me they voted for the show. It made me really happy to hear that. I knew from the second I turned this in that it wasn’t going to make prime time. Not because I lack confidence, but because I was confident that I made such a polarizing show so well that it would split the votes. I predicted 6th, got 7th. One off.
Still, it’s nice to know people have my back.
Contrary to what a lot people said, this wasn’t a shot fired at Commercial Break specifically or anyone else. It was a shot fired squarely at the audience. Probably even you. I don’t blame anyone for making a show, any kind of show, especially if it gets voted back.
I’m not going to do what I did last month and say I’m taking time off and then wind up doing something. If you love doing something, you do it, and I love writing and directing, I love editing, and if inspiration strikes in the next few weeks and it fits 101, I’ll do it.
It was a good screening last night. Coach is a great new addition to the prime time lineup, Intimate Indiscretions had their best episode yet (because I was in it), I also really liked Girl Sunglasses and Oh Shit (Lejon kills me every time).
