My Top 10 Years of the 00's
10. 2002 - College and work combined kicked my ass this year. To the point of not doing much else. Life hit the “pause” button here. Literally nothing else in my life except trying to get out of college to move to LA.
9. 2009 - Turned 30, parents separated, wore myself out. Made a show every month for 101, but never really was attached to any particular character or story. It was...

THE STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL in its entirety, including commercials that aired with it originally! Pure ridiculousness.
I watched this in parts a long time ago, but never tried to watch it from the very beginning. Literally there is no english at all for the first 8 minutes after the credits and when it does come back, you’re horrified to see that phase Luke Skywalker...

…with this post by Abed (warning, couple Avatar spoilers in there)
Not that Avatar is a perfect movie, but it was an undeniably unique and enjoyable movie-going experience for me. If you’re thinking of seeing this movie at all, you’d be doing yourself a huge disservice by not seeing it in 3D in the theatre. Cameron has done something special here, and while...
I can’t remember the last time I was this restless on a Saturday night. I’ve been going out pretty frequently, working regularly, and had been working on one video project or another for basically the entire year and now it just stops, and all that’s left is nothing except me in a room wanting to jump right back into it all.
I’ve been trying to write all night, but I...

Jennifer Ruiz presents: A Christmas Miracle 2 by Jennifer Ruiz made for Movie Night.
But first, catch up with the original A Christmas Miracle by Jennifer Ruiz.
This stuff makes your jobs look really, really fun.
So I'm only gonna say this once, but it's been

on my mind a bit since everyone’s been talking about it. And I get it, it’s almost Christmas time and all of those “best of 09” and “best of the decade” lists are coming out and you’re most likely looking at yourself and saying “Hey, this is not ideal. There are some things I wish were different,” and I get that — truly — but you really can’t blame it on 09.
Saying “I can’t...

The Pole by Ken O
A little parody of The Wire for the 2009 Movie Night Christmas Special.
This totally nailed the style. Great job, Ken.
Iron Man 2 Trailer !!!11
Didja see it? I did! It’s on the internet somewhere. Go find it yourself. I’m above reblogging a link for Tumbularities.

Wired Magazine has some really cool articles on James Cameron and the technology he developed for Avatar.
There’s a 2nd cool article here.
Infrared cameras are strung across the ceiling to track these reflective markers, capturing the movements of the actors’ bodies. These same cameras register markers on the frame of Cameron’s screen as the director moves it about.

Channel 101 Day Jobs (Extended, HD) - Channies 2009 Video
I didn’t make a Movie Night movie, but I did make this for the 2009 Channies with Dean, who’s not on Tumblr. This is the extended version which I figured I’d put up since the one that was screened will be up at channel101.com soon.
There was even more that we wanted to put in, such as my job working at a Suicide Hotline...

I didn’t go to prom.

– Roger Ebert’s review of Avatar is quite convincing. (via tylercoates) (via atencio)
Despite the trailers, I think if anyone deserves the benefit of the doubt for making a hyperbolic action movie, it’s James Cameron. I can’t wait to see this. Hopefully next week and hopefully in 3D.

Holy crap, people, we’re in trouble. Unfortunately, my desk is a plastic folding table, so I don’t think the company’s gonna be shelling out for one of these anytime soon.
Thanks, Katie, for sharing.
This is why I think being a slave in ancient Egypt is a much better career option right now.
